SPMT 340 - Sport Law (Spring)

COURSE DESCRIPTION 

The purpose of this course is to provide the student with an understanding of the legal issues involved in the supervision, management, and business operations of sport. Such as contracts, negligence liability, product liability, and risk management. 


COURSE OBJECTIVES

In keeping with the course content, SPMT 340 has the following objectives:

  1. To understand the legal issues involved in sport law.
  2. To disseminate and communicate key legal constructs.
  3. To lead discussions covering broad ranges of legal topics.
  4. To become proficient in constructing legal arguments.
  5. To demonstrate knowledge of the basic legal system, its terminology and principles as applied to professional and amateur sports.
